Mercy Medical Center Offers Bariatric Information and Educational Seminars
(January 18, 2005 -- Rockville Centre, NY) -- Mercy Medical Center is
pleased to offer Bariatric Information and Educational seminars to individuals
who may be interested in having bariatric (weight-loss) surgery. A surgeon
from the New York Bariatric Group, a leader in performing bariatric surgery,
will host the seminars.
According to the National Institutes of Health, weight-loss surgery, when
compared to other weight-loss methods, has produced the longest period of
sustained weight loss. At our weight-loss surgery seminar, you’ll learn what
weight-loss surgery is, who is a likely candidate and what it takes to achieve
significant loss of excess weight. You’ll find out that, as with any surgical
procedure, weight-loss surgery may present risks and that patients should
consult with their doctors to discuss which type of procedure is appropriate
for them.
You will have the opportunity to speak with a top bariatric surgeon who is
experienced in performing weight-loss surgery as well as several members from
the multidisciplinary team from the New York Bariatric Group, which may
include a physician assistant, a full-time nutritionist, a PhD Psychologist,
and a personal trainer. Seminars will be held the second Tuesday of
every month at 6PM at the Mercy League Lounge in the CHS Management
Center on the Mercy campus, exit 19S off the Southern State Parkway.
After all these years, it may turn out to be the information you’ve been
looking for. To register, please call the New York Bariatric Group at
516-616-5500.
