Mercy Medical Center appoints Patricia Grant as Chief Nursing Officer
A seasoned nursing professional takes the helm

(Rockville Centre, New York) - Martin Bieber, President and CEO of Mercy Medical Center, Rockville Centre, today announced that Patricia Grant, R.N. has been appointed as Mercy’s new Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer.

Ms. Grant joins Mercy from Beth Israel Medical Center’s Singer Division, where she served as Chief Nursing Officer.  Ms. Grant previously served as Director of Nursing at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center.  She started her career as a staff nurse at the Methodist Hospital.  She holds a Master of Arts degree from New York University, a Bachelor of Science degree from Hunter College and is a graduate of the St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing.

Mr. Bieber stated, “Few people understand better than Pat Grant how a hospital rises or falls on the skill, commitment, energy and dedication of its nursing staff. She has demonstrated time and again her unique understanding of the unique dynamics required to forge a strong team of nurses who must work within an extremely demanding health care and regulatory environment. Ms. Grant is a much welcomed, strategic member of our new Mercy team and we are delighted that she has brought her expertise, vision and experience to the medical center.”

Prior to her appointment at Mercy she was directly responsible for hundreds of acute medical/surgical beds and worked in areas that included Medical/Surgical, Neuro/Neurosurgery, Neuro/surgical Intensive Care, Adult Medical/Surgical Intensive Care, Orthopedics, Rehabilitation, Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care, Emergency Room, Respiratory Therapy Department and the Admitting Department. Her liaison responsibilities included Pharmacy, Social Work, Pastoral Care, Patient Advocate, Surgical Services, Cardiology, Transportation and Utilization Management.
