Mercy Medical Center appoints Pramberger as Chief Operating Officer
Arrives with years of experience in strengthening health systems
Rockville Centre, NY - Martin A. Bieber, President and CEO of Mercy Medical Center, Rockville Centre, announced that Anthony A. Pramberger, Jr. is joining Mercy as the new Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the institution.
Mr. Bieber stated, “Anthony is an experienced executive who has demonstrated how to manage healthcare costs while improving healthcare quality. He is a creative and thoughtful decision maker with excellent problem solving skills who works at building outstanding teams in order to create innovative and effective solutions. I have long admired his professional accomplishments and I am delighted that he is now part of the Mercy family.”
Mr. Pramberger comes from the Continuum Health Partners where he served as senior vice president for administration at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital Center. He directed an operation of $650,000,000, 700 beds with 41,000 discharges. He also ran Beth Israel Medical Center’s $50 million Kings Highway Division establishing new standards for care, expanded patient services and leadership programs. He served in a variety of administrative positions in his fifteen years with Continuum Health Partners. Prior to Continuum, Mr. Pramberger was at NYU Medical Center.
He holds an MBA, from New York University Graduate School of Business and Administration and a BS from Columbia University College of Pharmaceutical Science.
He is a diplomate of the American College of Healthcare Executives, a member of the Metropolitan Health Administrators Association, and has served as the president of the Healthcare Purchasing & Materials Management Association of Greater New York, and the New York City Society of Health-System Pharmacists.
Mr. Bieber observed, “ There are few in the healthcare industry who are as well grounded as Anthony. That is a core part of our mission at Mercy Medical Center and he will become an essential part of the team as we make good on that pledge.”
Mercy Medical Center is a 387-bed hospital in the heart of Long Island’s vibrant south shore. Its facilities include the regional home of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The medical center grounds are adjacent to the campus of Molloy College, a dynamic Catholic college whose nursing students find careers at Mercy and surrounding hospitals.
