FRIENDS OF MERCY RAISE OVER $200,000 FOR MERCY MEDICAL CENTER

(Rockville Centre, NY) - The Friends of Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, raised over $200,000 at their 25th Annual Men's Golf Classic honoring Francis Murray of Rockville Centre. As an active member of the Friends of Mercy, Mr. Murray has been involved with fundraising activities at Mercy for over 29 years. He has been an active member of the Rockville Centre Fire Department's Rescue Company Floodlight #1 for over 30 years, has been involved with the RVC Community Fund and has served as a member of its Golf Committee since it was founded by his father, Mayor Eugene J. Murray, over 19 years ago.

The Golf Classic was held at the Rockville Centre Links and at Hempstead Golf Club. Special Guest at the event was Hall of Famer, Clark Gilles, New York Islanders who was the auctioneer. The classic, offered tournament packages, as well as single packages, and an evening of fun. Cocktails, dinner, awards, raffles, and the Friends' infamous live auction were part of the End-of-Day highlights.


The proceeds of this event will go to a brand new, state-of-the-art Radiology Suite located within Mercy's new Express Emergency Care. Utilizing the latest technology to efficiently diagnose and treat patients with less severe illnesses and injuries. The radiology suite will be operated so that patients will receive seamless, attentive and convenient care. The new Express Emergency Care will be staffed by board certified and residency trained emergency physicians who will work with Mercy's plastic surgeons, orthopedists, ENT and oral surgery specialists to ensure that expert care is available for treatment and follow-up.
