Mercy Medical Center Opens New Cardiac Catheterization Lab

(July 7, 2006 -- Rockville Centre, N.Y.) - Mercy Medical Center is proud to announce the opening of our new state of the art Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The lab is now in use for diagnostic cardiac catheterization, the gold standard for measuring blockages or lesions in the coronary arteries and diagnosing heart disease. Dr. Asif Rehman, F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I., an experienced leader in the field of interventional Cardiology, will direct the Cath Lab. Dr. Rehman was trained in interventional cardiology at Tuft's University in Boston and is one of the busiest and highly skilled operators at St. Francis Heart Hospital. Dr. Rehman's reputation for quality and excellence in patient care precedes him.

Under Dr. Rehman's leadership, Mercy Medical Center's Cardiac Catheterization Lab. will offer diagnostic cardiac catheterization with the same advanced technology and attention to patient comfort as offered at St. Francis Hospital. Elective diagnostic cardiac catheterization is also available on an outpatient basis.
