TASK FORCE
Jeffrey Alan Brown, MD Named To Panel On Improving Stroke
Care In New York City And Long Island
(Rockville Centre, NY) - Jeffrey
Alan Brown, MD, Director of Neurosurgery at Mercy Medical Center,
has been appointed to the American Heart Association’s New York
City Stroke Task Force. The panel provides a forum for the development
of strategies to improve the acute stroke care system throughout
New York City and Long Island.
Dr. Brown, a resident of Great Neck who has been on the medical
staff at Mercy since 2004, also recently was named Joint Chair
of the Medical Advisory Board of the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association,
an international support organization for patients with severe
facial pain. In addition, he recently received the designation
of Honorary Police Surgeon from the New York City Police Department.
Dr. Brown, who has offices in Great Neck and in Rockville Centre,
is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery and
the American Board of Pain Medicine and is Professor of Neurosurgery
at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. Since
2003, he has been included as either one of America’s Top Doctors
(representing the top 1% of all physicians as nominated by their
peers) or, more recently, New York Metro Area Top Doctors.
