MERCY MEDICAL CENTER NAMES JOHN P. REILLY, MD VICE PRESIDENT FOR MEDICAL AFFAIRS AND CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER

(November 18, 2007 - Rockville Centre, NY) - Mercy Medical Center has appointed John P. Reilly, MD to be Vice President for Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Reilly, who resides in Long Beach, has been Director of Internal Medicine and will continue in that role, as well.

Dr. Reilly joined Mercy in January, 2007 from Victory Memorial Hospital in Brooklyn, where he was Medical Director. Previously, he was Associate Director of Medicine and Medical Management at Brooklyn’s Lutheran Medical Center, and Associate Program Director of Internal Medicine and Chief of Oncology at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in The Bronx.

Dr. Reilly is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Hematology, and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. He served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY-Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, and as Assistant Professor of Medicine at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. In addition, Dr. Reilly has been a District Surgeon for the New York City Police Department since 1995.
