New Pharmacy Leadership at Mercy

Mercy Medical Center, a member of Catholic Health Services, recently announced appointments to its Pharmacy Department.

Mark Macchia, PharmD., has been appointed pharmacy director. He is a registered pharmacist with extensive experience in hospital pharmacy administration at various New York facilities, most recently serving as associate director of pharmacy at Mercy. His accomplishments include improving regulatory compliance, re-engineering medication distribution processes and implementing new clinical services and pharmacy information systems. Mr. Macchia holds a master’s of business administration from St John’s University and a doctorate in pharmacy from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Anne-Marie Kesicier has been named assistant director of pharmacy. She’s been at Mercy since 2007 and served as the manager, clinical pharmacy services, since 2010. While at Mercy, she expanded the clinical pharmacy services, chaired the Catholic Health Services (CHS) system-wide Diabetes Management Committee, standardized the hospital formulary within the CHS system, developed the smart infusion pump drug library and initiated Mercy’s Antimicrobial Stewardship Program. Prior to joining Mercy, Ms. Kesicier held various positions at Mount Sinai Medical Center.
