Rockville Centre, NY – Mercy Medical Center, a hospital dedicated to providing patients with the highest level of quality care possible, announced the opening of Catholic Health Services Center for Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Healing at Mercy.

The outpatient center is led by vascular surgeon Xenophon Xenophontos, MD along with Aprilee Garlick, RN, BSN the center’s program director. The center will provide a wide range of services for the treatment of chronic, non-healing and/or poorly healing wounds. These services will be delivered by physicians and staff specializing in wound care and hyperbaric medicine.

The Center for Hyperbaric Medicine & Wound Healing at Mercy will apply evidence-based clinical practices using sophisticated therapies, including the most advanced dressings and hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) therapy, to help give patients their best quality of life. After this, a treatment program specifically tailored to the patient’s needs will be created utilizing the most effective treatment options.
